China will keep collaborating with all parties to uphold genuine multilateralism and protect the United Nations’ central role Nations, and foster global governance grounded in broad consultation, collaborative contributions, and mutual benefits, stated Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Wang, a Politburo member of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, shared his thoughts in a written message for the international symposium titled “Strengthen the Role of the United Nations and Promote Multilateralism,” hosted by the Chinese Foreign Ministry in Beijing.
According to Wang, the successful gathering at last year’s UN Summit of the Future demonstrated the global community’s shared commitment to advancing multilateralism, enhancing the United Nations’ role, and refining global governance.
This year commemorates the 80th anniversary of the World Anti-Fascist War’s victory and the establishment of the United Nations. The global community aspires for all nations to collaborate in solidarity to uphold righteousness, defend fairness and justice, ensure world peace and stability, and foster global development and prosperity, Wang said.
As both a founding member of the United Nations and a permanent member of the UN Security Council, China is committed to collaborating with all parties to uphold genuine multilateralism, protect the UN’s central role, and foster global governance rooted in wide consultation, collective input, and mutual benefits, according to Wang said.
“Together, we will bring stability to a changing and turbulent world, inject positive energy in building a more just and equitable global governance system, and work toward the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind,”
Wang stated.
Over 100 attendees participated in the symposium, including representatives from nearly 50 countries, international and regional organizations in China, UN officials, relevant department representatives, and experts and scholars.
