IUNW Complaints about Egyptian NGOs with ECOSOC Status

Independent United Nation Watch (IUNW) office in New York, sent urgent complaints to the ECOSOC, High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and NGO Liaison Unit. The complaints cited various violations by three Egyptian organizations which use their ECOSOC Consultative status to run media warfare on behalf of countries against others. These NGOs are launching massive misleading campaigns on behalf of UAE at the UN Human Rights Council sessions.

IUNW said in its complaints that the Egyptian Organization For Human Rights (EOHR), Maat for peace, Development and human Rights Association and Ecumenical Alliance for Human Rights and Development (EAHRD) have all received money from certain countries such as UAE to attack other countries. It also added that those NGOs are ignorant of how the Human Rights Council in Geneva operate.

The Egyptian Organization For Human Rights (EOHR)

The Egyptian Organization For Human Rights (EOHR) led by Mr. Hafez Abu Seda has turned the Human Rights Council into a propaganda hub instead of interactive human rights platform. Our reports confirm that Mr. Abu Seda received large sums of cash from United Arab Emirates to attack some countries.

EOHR is due to organize events as follows:

– An Event on  the title, Human Rights in Qatar, Room XXI, 12 March 2018.

– An Event on the title, Human Rights in Arab Gulf (Women), Room XXI, on 14 March 2018.

-An event on the title, Human Rights in Qatar, Room XXIV, 19 March 2018.

Maat for peace, Development and human Rights Association

Maat for peace, Development and human Rights Association, led by Mr. Ayman Okeil has turned the Human Rights Council into a propaganda hub instead of interactive human rights platform. Our reports confirm that Mr. Okeil received large sums of cash from United Arab Emirates to attack some countries.

Maat will host the following events:

– An Event on  the title, Peace and Development, Room XXIV, 28 February 2018.

– An Event on the title, Human Rights in Africa, Room XXV, on 08 March 2018.

Ecumenical Alliance for Human Rights and Development (EAHRD

Ecumenical Alliance for Human Rights and Development (EAHRD) led by Mr. Ayman Nasri has turned the Human Rights Council into a propaganda hub instead of interactive human rights platform. Our reports confirm that Mr. Nasri received large sums of cash from United Arab Emirates to attack some countries.

EAHRD will host the following events:

– An Event on  the title, Human Rights in the Middle East, Media, Room XXVII, 28 February 2018.

– An Event on the title, Human Rights Challenges in Developing Countries (Women), Room XXV, on 09 March 2018.

As of this 37th session, IUNW carried and early investigation into some of the upcoming events and discovered with evidence how NGOs are selling rooms and statements to “Security Services” of some Arab and Gulf countries. The rooms are sold to hold events against countries not to constructively discuss human rights issues but to use it for political attacks and propaganda.

IUNW urged the addressed bodies to:

– Cancel all the events of of all three NGOs.

– Open an immediate investigation into the NGOs relations in Geneva with UAE embassy and Mr. Ahmad Thani and Hamli.

– Urge the NGO committee and ECOSOC to terminate the accreditation of these NGOs.

– Involve the Swiss police into possible money laundering and tax evasion activities.

– Impose a life ban on the leader of NGOs due to their sabotage at the Human Rights Council
